The perfect transitional cocktail come rain or shine

Autumn is around the corner and after having a beautiful summer with lots of alfresco dining and generous amounts of refreshing cocktails, beers and bubbles it’s going to be hard to transition. But whilst we have been working on sunning ourselves this summer has seen British farmers having to harvest their crops earlier than recent years, due to the unusually long heatwave. With this being said, in honour of our hard working British farmers and the transitioning of seasons our cocktail of the month is ‘Harvest Sparkle’.  

 

Syrup recipe

¼cups Ginger ¼cups Cinnamon ½cups Honey 1 cup Orange Juice 1oz Bourbon 1/8cups Cloves

Top up syrup with

Prosecco

For decoration

1/2 Sprig of rosemary for decoration  

 

  • Begin with making your cider honey syrup by using a small saucepan to gently cook through the ginger, cloves, cinnamon, honey and orange juice until it starts to bubble.
  • Make sure to remove mixture immediately from the heat and let it cool! This can also be done by mixing the honey syrup and bourbon through ice in a shaker (make sure to do this quickly so the mixture doesn’t get watered down) or naturally cooled and then mixed with the bourbon.
  • Keep the mixture refrigerated till you use it.
  • Your mixture should provide syrup for 10-12 cocktails which can then be topped up with the prosecco and finished with rosemary for decoration.
