corporate social responsibility

create food and party design have fully embraced the principles and working practices of having an operational Corporate Social Responsibility policy.

This is based on our desire and determination to address the inherently wasteful aspects of our business and to influence venues, clients and suppliers to work with us on this strategy.

Please click here for further details on our company CSR and sustainability practices.

We have instigated the following operational procedures to address these important concerns:

• Within the hospitality industry supply chain there are a number of stakeholders who rely on the caterer to trade in an ethical and fair manner. That is why we use fair trade coffee, tea, sugar, bananas and chocolate as standard.

• We source the majority of food and drinks locally from organic or sustainable suppliers.

• As standard we source our bottled water from Belu, whose profits go towards clean water projects in third world countries. The disposable water bottles we readily supply to our service and supplier staff at an event are made from corn and are biodegradable. Belu are a carbon neutral company.

• We encourage staff amongst The Concerto Group to annually nominate a charity that we support through direct fund raising activities and fund raising events at reduced costs. The Concerto Group nominated charity of 2011/12 is 'Kid's Company'.

• We use a waste recycling service company who recycle foodstuffs, cardboard, tin, paper and plastic from our kitchen, headquarters and event venues.

• We ensure production of foodstuffs and delivery to create headquarters is undertaken with as small a carbon footprint as possible.

• As standard, all marketing material is printed on recycled forestry renewable paper and card.

• create use Climate Cars, a taxi firm of Prius hybrid cars with a carbon neutral status for staff and client travel.

• We use locally sourced staff, selected and trained by Lola Staffing who are based at create headquarters.

• We offer apprenticeships in our kitchens to students from local schools in SW London.
